It feels completely surreal to even type this, but my big sister’s wedding is happening this weekend.
Somehow, the little moments of growing up — sharing a room, stealing each other’s clothes, late-night talks, and all the inside jokes — have led us to this moment: walking down the aisle, not as kids anymore, but as women. Her, a bride. Me, standing beside her as her Maid of Honor.
Cue all the emotions.
Maid of Honor: More Than a Title
Being asked to be her Maid of Honor wasn’t just an honor — it was one of the most meaningful roles I’ve ever taken on. It means I’ve had the chance to walk with her through this season of engagement, planning, anticipation, excitement, stress, laughter (and maybe a few tears). I’ve watched her dream about this day for years — and now it’s finally here.
From bridal dress fittings to planning her shower, sending her Pinterest ideas at midnight, and helping her choose the tiniest details — it's been so much more than just a checklist. It’s been memories in the making. Memories I’ll hold onto forever.
Watching Her Become a Bride
There’s something incredibly emotional about watching your sister — the girl who once rolled her eyes at you, but always had your back — become a bride.
Seeing her find her person, plan her forever, and glow in the kind of love that makes her laugh differently, smile deeper, and feel like herself — it’s been one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed.
And this weekend, I get to stand beside her while she says “I do” to the love of her life.
A Full-Circle Moment
I don’t think anything can truly prepare you for a moment like this — when childhood memories and adulthood milestones collide in one weekend full of love, laughter, and probably a few happy tears. It’s a full-circle kind of feeling.
And while I’ll be holding her bouquet and fixing her dress, I’ll also be holding back tears of pride, joy, and gratitude — for the sister who’s always been my biggest example, and now, my favorite bride in the world.
So Here’s to This Weekend
To the start of forever for my sister and her fiancé.To celebrating love, family, and the journey ahead. To being present, soaking in every second, and dancing the night away in honor of two people who are so meant to be.
I can’t wait to share more after the wedding, but for now — I’m going to take a deep breath and prepare my Maid of Honor speech (again), pack some waterproof mascara, and remind myself to just be in the moment.
Because this weekend is one we’ll never forget.
