February has always felt extra special to me. Between Valentine’s Day and my birthday being only two days apart, the entire month feels like one long celebration of love, friendship, and a little bit of indulgence. For February's craft day, I wanted to lean fully into that energy and host something that felt festive, feminine, and personal—so I decided on a Birthday Brunch meets Cupid’s Café theme, celebrated with my favorite girlfriends.
This craft day was all about soft colors, sweet details, cozy conversation, and creating something meaningful together. Think: light pinks and whites layered with pops of red, bows and hearts everywhere, candles flickering, fresh flowers on the table, and the smell of coffee and pastries filling the room. It was the perfect way to celebrate another year around the sun while still embracing all the Valentine’s magic February brings.
The Theme: Birthday Brunch x Cupid’s Café
The vision for this February craft day was romantic, playful, and warm—like stepping into a charming little café that also doubles as a birthday celebration.
Color Palette:
Light pink
Crisp white
Pops of red
These colors set the tone beautifully and tied together both Valentine’s Day and birthday vibes without feeling over-the-top. The overall look was soft and sweet, with just enough festive flair.
Décor & Tablescape Details
I wanted the space to feel intentional but still relaxed, like a brunch you’d linger at for hours.
Decor Elements Included:
Bow accents woven throughout the table (napkins, place settings, and little details)
Heart-shaped touches and subtle Valentine’s décor
Fresh flowers in soft pinks and whites
Candles in varying heights for a cozy, romantic glow
Cherry and strawberry accents for a playful, café-inspired feel
The mix of florals, candles, and sweet details made the table feel layered and inviting, while still light and airy for a daytime brunch.
The Brunch Menu: Sweet, Simple & Café-Inspired
Since this was a birthday brunch, the food was just as important as the crafts. I kept the menu easy but elevated—things you’d expect to find at a cute café.
Brunch Favorites:
Fresh pastries and baked goods from my favorite local bakery - Brimfield Breadoven
Fresh baked quiche - & I bought cute little heart baking cups to make them in
Strawberries and cherries for snacking and styling
Juice bar with orange juice, cranberry juice, and sparkling options
Coffee station with creamers, syrups, and cute mugs
Cant forget a cutie little heart shaped Victorian cake from Walmart!!
Everything was designed to be grab-and-go so we could snack, sip, and craft without feeling rushed.
The Craft Options
For February’s craft day, I wanted to offer a few creative options so everyone could choose what excited them most. All of the crafts tied back to love, celebration, and connection.
DIY Claw Clips
This was such a fun, trend-forward craft.
Clear or neutral claw clips
Charms, pearls, bows, and heart accents
Strong adhesive for customization
Each girl could design a claw clip that matched her personal style—something cute and wearable that she could take home and actually use.
Brunch Recipe Cards
Another option was creating custom recipe cards featuring our favorite breakfast and brunch recipes.
Blank or printed recipe cards
Pens, stickers, stamps, and washi tape
Space to write a favorite recipe or a sentimental note
This craft felt especially meaningful—something you could keep, use again, and associate with memories from the day.
DIY Valentines for Lovers or Besties
Because this craft day fell right between Valentine’s Day and my birthday, making Valentines felt perfectly on theme.
Cardstock, envelopes, and stickers
Sweet messages for partners, friends, or family
A mix of playful and heartfelt designs
It was such a thoughtful way to slow down and create something personal for someone you love.
The Vibe: Cozy, Creative & Celebratory
What made this February craft day so special wasn’t just the theme or the crafts—it was the feeling. Everyone chatting, laughing, sipping coffee, and creating together made the day feel warm and meaningful. It was the perfect blend of birthday celebration, Valentine’s sweetness, and intentional time with friends.
There’s something so special about celebrating your birthday surrounded by people who know you well, especially when the focus is less on perfection and more on presence.
Party favors for my Galentine's
I'm thinking of course everything has to pink or red. A fun pink lipgloss, or a pink sheet face mask, pink scrunchie, or pink claw clip, I'd love to do pink pjs and slippers but that adds up pretty quick, so I'm trying to think of something thoughtful yet cheaper! Let me know in the comments if you have any better ideas!
What's already done & what still needs done
So far I already have all my plates, placemats, napkins, silverware, cups, tables, tablecloths, candlesticks and candle holders, vases, some decor and balloons, I still need to get heart balloons from Dollar Tree, some pink ribbon from Hobby Lobby, fresh flowers of course, print my custom stickers for my coffee cups, hang my banner that a friend is making (The A Collective Co.) - you should check her out! She makes beautiful custom banners and they are so fun and cute and perfect for my cupids cafe party!
Final Thoughts
This Birthday Brunch x Cupid’s Café craft day felt like the perfect way to celebrate February—romantic without being cheesy, festive without being overwhelming, and creative without being complicated. It reminded me why I love hosting these monthly craft days so much: they create space to slow down, connect, and celebrate life’s little moments.
If you’re looking for a fun February gathering idea, I couldn’t recommend this theme more. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, Galentine’s Day, or simply an excuse to get your girlfriends together, a cozy brunch paired with thoughtful crafts is always a win. 💕
