Long weekends in the summer are already magical—but when you add in the Fourth of July, birthday celebrations, golf cart rides and parades, pool days, and matching DIY tank tops, you know it's going to be one to remember! Here's a little recap of how we spent our Fourth of July weekend—from backyard barbecues to fireworks on the golf course and everything in between.

🎉 Friday: America’s Birthday Bash (+ Two More!)

We kicked off the weekend with the ultimate backyard celebration—celebrating America’s birthday along with Jimmy and Ali’s birthdays! We set up on the patio with everything summer BBQ dreams are made of: hot dogs, steaks, chicken skewers, fruit salad, homemade punch, and of course strawberry and cherry pie. The vibes were patriotic, festive, and full of love & celebration!

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was decorating our golf cart for the Fourth of July parade—we went all in with flags, streamers, and red, white & blue everything. After the parade, we headed to our friends' house for another cookout and watched fireworks from the golf course, which felt so nostalgic and was a perfect way to end the night.

What I Wore: I wore the cutest red and white striped halter mini bodycon dress from Target, and it’s actually on sale right now for only $10! It was festive without being over-the-top, super comfortable, and perfect for a hot backyard bbq kind of day. I even DIY'd matching flag patch tank tops that morning using plain white tanks from Target and iron-on patches from Hobby Lobby—so easy and so cute. So we changed for the fireworks into our denim shorts and matching DIY tanks and I loved the festive look.

Beauty Notes:

  • I curled my hair using my Bombay Hair 3-in-1 curler, which is always my go-to for soft, long-lasting waves.

  • For makeup, I kept it easy and reliable with Colorescience Flex Shield SPF, which gave me coverage and protection from morning to fireworks without budging.

Saturday: Girl Time, Coffee Runs, and Date Night

Saturday morning started with the perfect girls' morning. We headed to The Still House at Gervasi Vineyard for iced coffees and relaxed patio vibes, then did a little browsing at the Bistro Market and some spontaneous shopping at TJMaxx (because when do you not find something good?).

I took Rocky on a little walk afterward to soak up the sunshine and then got ready for date night. Jimmy and I went to Leo’s Italian Social in Cuyahoga Falls and sat outside on the patio with pasta, apps, and all the summer-night feels.

🏖️ Sunday: Pool Day + Golf + Girlfriend Time

We wrapped up the weekend with a pool morning at the Glenmore pool—pure relaxation mode. I wore my brown polka dot one-piece from Target (under $25!), and I got so many compliments on it. It’s flattering, affordable, and pool-day perfect.

Later that afternoon, Jimmy and I hit the course for a little golf date, and surprisingly, I actually played pretty well! It was so fun and such a nice way to wind down the weekend. Of course we wore our patriotic golf fits.

To close it out, I grabbed dinner with my girlfriends, caught up on all the girl talk, and then called it an early night.

💫 Final Thoughts

This Fourth of July weekend was everything I love about summer—celebrations, sunshine, cute outfits, good food, and even better people. From backyard hangs to golf dates and patriotic DIYs, it was the kind of weekend that fills your heart (and camera roll).

If you’re looking to recreate any of these looks or moments, I’ve linked some of my favorite outfits and finds on my LTK & ShopMy —and I promise, all of them are affordable and still in stock! Until the next long weekend... ❤️🤍💙
