A Cozy Stars Hollow–Inspired Evening

If there’s one thing I love most about fall, it’s leaning into all the cozy, nostalgic vibes that come with the season — and what better way to do that than with a Gilmore Girls–themed craft night? This past Saturday, I hosted a ā€œStars Hollow Craft Nightā€ at my house, and it truly felt like stepping right into an episode of Gilmore Girls — complete with coffee, candles, crafts, and the best group of girlfriends.

šŸ• The Food Spread — A True Gilmore Feast

When I say we ate like Lorelai and Rory, I mean it! I put together a spread that was fun, cozy, and perfectly over-the-top in true Gilmore fashion.

For the main food, we had:

  • Classic cheese and pepperoni pizzaĀ (because takeout pizza is a Gilmore staple)

  • A fresh sushi platterĀ for a little fancy touch

  • Pigs in a blanketĀ for the ultimate comfort bite

  • And my sweet friend BriĀ brought a massive and absolutely deliciousĀ charcuterie board — it was gorgeous and packed with all the goodies: cheeses, crackers, meats, fruit, and nuts.

For dessert (and there was plenty of it!), we had:

  • Popcorn and Twizzlers (Gilmore snack essentials)

  • Donuts decorated perfectly for Fall

  • Mini pumpkin cupcakes

  • Pumpkin pieĀ and apple pie

  • And the most amazing salted caramel chocolate chip cookies

It was a perfect mix of cozy, sweet, and comforting — exactly the kind of spread you’d imagine Lorelai throwing together for an impromptu Friday night hangout.

ā˜• Luke’s Diner Comes to Life

One of my favorite parts of the night was my Luke’s Diner section. I turned a corner of my living room into a mini Luke’s setup, complete with:

  • Hot coffee, apple cider, and hot tea

  • Garnishes like dried apples, cinnamon sticks, and a selection of syrups and creamers

  • Cups and sleeves decorated with custom Luke’s Diner stickersĀ I made myself!

It was such a cute touch — everyone loved grabbing a coffee refuel (or two!) throughout the night, just like a true Gilmore girl. And yes… the iconic ā€œNo Cell Phonesā€ signĀ was proudly hanging nearby, just like Luke’s.

šŸ•°ļø Kim’s Antiques Corner

Another fun detail was my little Kim’s Antiques corner. I styled a section of the living room with a few of my antique frames, tea cups, and a vintage console table, and it gave the space that perfect Stars Hollow charm. It felt like a cozy nod to Lane’s mom’s shop, and it added such a whimsical touch to the setup.

šŸŽØ Crafting Setup — Cozy Chaos and Creativity

For the actual craft part of the night, I set up two 6-foot tablesĀ in our formal living room. I covered them with white tableclothsĀ that went to the floor, added white chair covers, and then layered plaid paper from TargetĀ over the top for a seasonal touch.

At each place setting, everyone had:

  • Two bookmarksĀ to paint and decorate

  • Two candlesticksĀ to paint

  • Brown paper placematsĀ (to keep things tidy while we got creative)

I even printed a few coloring pagesĀ for when people finished early — it was such a relaxing touch and gave everyone something cozy to do while chatting.

For party favors, I made the cutest ā€œAl’s Pancake Worldā€ takeout boxesĀ (using Chinese takeout containers) and added stickers I designed myself. Inside, each girl got a pair of cute socksĀ and a Target matchbox — it was the sweetest little Gilmore-inspired goodie to take home!

We all had so much fun painting our candlesticks — everyone’s creativity came out in different ways! I painted mine Christmas-themed, with red bows and holly details, and they turned out so cute.

šŸ•Æļø The Ambience

The vibe of the night was everything. I created a cozy, warm, and candle-lit atmosphere with sunflowers, fall candles, and soft lightingĀ throughout the house.

For the table centerpiece, I used:

  • A few pillar candles

  • Candlesticks

  • Real grapes, apples, and pearsĀ scattered throughout

It turned out so simple, natural, and cute — very Stars Hollow harvest festivalĀ energy. And the best part? I washed the fruit afterward and have been eating it all week!

šŸ“š Rory Gilmore Book Nook

For the finishing touch, I rented a bunch of the ā€œfamous booksā€ Rory Gilmore readĀ throughout the series and displayed them on a side table with more craft supplies. I stacked them neatly with a coffee mug candleĀ on top — it was such a charming, thoughtful detail and truly tied the theme together.

And of course, Gilmore Girls was playing all night longĀ in the background — because what’s a Stars Hollow night without Lorelai and Rory’s fast-talking banter filling the room?

🌻 Wrapping Up the Night

It was the perfectĀ fall evening — warm, cozy, creative, and full of laughter. Everyone left with painted crafts, full bellies, and happy hearts. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a chilly October night than surrounded by friends, candles, and endless coffee refills. It really felt like our own little Stars Hollow for the night — the kind of simple joy and connection that makes fall feel so special.
