Is there anything better than a summer girls’ night filled with snacks, music, and a fun craft project? I love getting creative with my girlfriends, especially when the projects are cute, wearable, or something we can actually use after. If you’re looking to plan the ultimate summer craft night, here are some of my favorite trendy and fun ideas to try.

1. Beaded T-Shirts & Tank Tops

Customizing shirts with beads is the perfect throwback trend and super easy to do. Think adding colorful beads to the straps of tank tops, along hemlines, or even spelling out words or initials. Pair with denim shorts for the ultimate Y2K summer vibe.

What you’ll need: Plain tanks or tees, small beads, needle & thread, or fabric glue for easy application.

2. DIY Painted Tote Bags

Grab some plain canvas tote bags and let your creativity flow. You can go for bold, colorful patterns, fun phrases, or even cute little doodles. It’s practical and stylish—perfect for summer errands, farmers markets, or beach days.

What you’ll need: Canvas tote bags, fabric paint, brushes, and stencils (optional).

3. Bedazzled Hair Brushes

Who doesn’t love a little sparkle? Take clear or colored hair brushes and add rhinestones, gems, or fun stickers to make your own custom bedazzled brush. These are great to keep in your gym bag, beach bag, or vanity.

What you’ll need: Plain plastic hair brushes, rhinestones or gems, strong craft glue, tweezers for precise placement.

4. Seashell Hair Clips, Hats & Accessories

Bring that coastal cowgirl vibe to life by making DIY seashell hair clips or barrettes. Use real or faux shells, and glue them to plain clips for a fun, beachy accessory you’ll actually wear all summer.

What you’ll need: Shells, hair clips/barrettes, hot glue gun or super glue.

5. Beaded Phone Straps & Keychains

The beaded phone charm trend is still going strong—and they’re so fun to make with friends. Use colorful beads, pearls, charms, and even letter beads to make personalized phone straps or keychains.

What you’ll need: String or cord, beads of all kinds, keychain rings or phone strap loops.

6. Friendship Bracelets (But Make Them Chic)

No craft night is complete without friendship bracelets. Go beyond the basic ones and add pearls, gold accents, or cute charms to make them more elevated—but still fun.

What you’ll need: Embroidery thread, elastic cord, beads, charms, clasps if you want a more polished finish.

7. Painted wine glasses or Candle Holders

Painted mason jars are cute for organizing brushes, pens, or makeup, or even as vases. You can also repurpose small glass jars into trendy candle holders with fun summer designs.

What you’ll need: Mason jars, acrylic paint or spray paint, painter’s tape (for clean lines), and optional glitter or embellishments.

The Perfect Craft Night Setup

Snacks: Think popcorn, fruit trays, fun drinks like mocktails or wine spritzers.✨ Music: Make a playlist with a mix of throwbacks and current favorites.✨ Comfy Clothes: Matching loungewear sets or oversized tees + biker shorts—always a vibe.

Summer craft nights are the best way to spend quality time with your girlfriends and leave with something cute you actually made yourself. Let me know which one you’re trying first—or tag me if you post your creations!
