Every year around this time, I usually plan a fun Valentine’s or birthday photoshoot. It’s always been something I look forward to—pink tones, playful outfits, and celebrating another year. But this year felt different. As I get ready to turn 31 this February, I felt a strong pull to shift the direction of my photos and focus on something that felt more me.
Instead of leaning into a themed shoot, I wanted something more intentional. More professional. More reflective of who I am right now and the many hats I wear on a daily basis—working full-time in the corporate world as a property manager, creating content and blogging on the side, and recently reconnecting with a lifelong hobby by playing piano again. This shoot was less about a moment and more about a season. A way to visually capture where I am and what I do.
I shot four looks, each styled in a different room of our home to reflect a different part of my life. Here’s a breakdown of each outfit and why I loved it so much.
For the first look, I wanted something that felt undeniably professional and business-forward—clean lines, tailored, and confident.
I styled my black Good American Scuba suit pants and matching blazer in our home office, and I couldn’t have loved the result more. The structure of the suit feels powerful without being stiff, and the scuba fabric adds a modern edge that photographs beautifully.
This look perfectly represents my corporate side—the version of me that shows up every day as a property manager, balancing professionalism with personality. Shooting this look in our home office made it feel authentic and grounded, like a true reflection of my everyday work life. This outfit feels timeless and versatile, and I know I’ll be using these photos for everything from LinkedIn to brand pitches.
This second look might be my favorite of the entire shoot.
I styled my brown jersey knit Good American skirt set in our formal living room alongside my piano, and the photos turned out even better than I imagined. The soft, neutral tones paired beautifully with the room and the piano itself, creating such a warm and timeless aesthetic.
This look represents something deeply personal to me—reconnecting with piano and embracing it again as an adult. There’s something so grounding about sitting at the piano, and this outfit felt like the perfect blend of comfort and intention.
The photos feel calm, reflective, and very “me.” They capture a quieter side of my life and a hobby that I’m so excited to grow into again. These images feel meaningful in a way that goes beyond content.
For the third look, I wanted something playful yet polished—something that clearly represents my creative side.
I layered my Sweet Caroline embroidered tank top under a pink blazer and paired it with white dress pants, both from H&M, and shot this look in my studio room. The result was exactly the vibe I was hoping for: fun, feminine, confident, and creative.
This look feels very “content creator meets influencer,” and I’m honestly so obsessed with it. The pink blazer adds a pop of personality while still keeping things professional, and the embroidered tank adds a personal touch that makes the outfit feel unique.
These photos perfectly represent the side of me that loves creating, styling, photographing, and sharing content online. They feel bright, modern, and full of personality.
Look Four: Something Fun & Feminine
For the final look, I let myself have a little fun.
I wore my ASTR Contrast Vest Mini Dress, and it brought such a fresh energy to the shoot. The structured vest style feels modern and chic, while the mini length keeps it playful. The whole look gives bridal and spring vibes, and I absolutely loved it.
This outfit felt like a reminder that even as I shift toward more professional content, there’s still room for fun, fashion-forward moments. It was the perfect way to round out the shoot and add a lighter, more editorial touch.
Final Thoughts
This photoshoot felt like a turning point for me—in the best way. It was less about celebrating a birthday and more about honoring where I am in life right now. The many roles I juggle. The things I’m proud of. The passions I’m rediscovering.
Each look represented a different side of me, and together they tell a story that feels honest, intentional, and true.
As I step into 31, I’m excited to continue showing up as myself—professionally, creatively, and personally—and I’m so grateful to have photos that reflect that season so beautifully 🤍
