How to Host the Perfect Masters Watch Party at Home ⛳🌼

There is something so special about Masters weekend. The blooming azaleas, the pristine greens, the traditions, and the excitement of watching one of the most iconic tournaments in golf make it the perfect excuse to gather friends and host a cozy watch party.

Every year, fans tune in to watch the legendary The Masters Tournament played at the stunning Augusta National Golf Club. The atmosphere of the tournament is elegant, classic, and rooted in tradition — which makes it such a fun theme for a get-together at home.

Last year, a few of my girlfriends and I helped decorate for a Masters watch party at our friend’s house, and it ended up being one of the cutest and easiest themed parties we’ve done. Everything came together with simple decorations, classic Masters-inspired food, and of course plenty of Azalea cocktails. If you’re thinking about hosting a Masters party this year, here’s exactly how to recreate the vibe.

Start with a Classic Masters Color Palette

The key to decorating for a Masters party is sticking to the iconic colors: green and yellow.

Green represents the famous Masters green jacket and the lush fairways of Augusta, while yellow reflects the beautiful azaleas that bloom around the course each spring.

Keeping the color palette simple makes decorating easy and affordable.

Think:

  • Green table linens

  • Yellow napkins

  • Green and yellow balloons

  • Fresh greenery

  • Pops of floral accents

It immediately gives the room that classic Augusta-inspired feel.

Easy Decorating Ideas That Make a Big Impact

One of the things I love most about themed watch parties is that you don’t need to spend a lot to make it look amazing.

Last year, we decorated our friend’s kitchen and living room, which is where everyone gathered to watch the tournament.

Balloon Arch

The centerpiece of our decorations was a green and yellow balloon arch. It looked so festive and instantly made the room feel like a celebration.

Balloon arches are surprisingly easy to make, and the color combo looked perfect with the Masters theme.

Simple Table Setup

We used the dining table for all the food.

To keep it affordable and easy:

  • We laid down a green tablecloth from Dollar Tree

  • All the plates, cups, napkins, and silverware were also from Dollar Tree

  • Everything was green and yellow to match the theme

Sometimes the simplest setups end up looking the cutest.

Turf Table Runner

One of my favorite little details was the green turf table runner we found at Dollar Tree.

It looked like mini putting green grass and worked perfectly with the golf theme. We placed it down the center of the table and arranged the food along it. It tied everything together so well.

Azalea Plant Centerpiece

Of course we had to include a little nod to Augusta’s famous flowers.

We placed a mini azalea plant on the table as part of the decor. It was simple, pretty, and perfectly on theme. Fresh plants or flowers instantly elevate any party setup.

Setting Up the Food & Drink Stations

To keep the party flowing smoothly, we divided the space into two areas.

Dining Table: Food

Kitchen Island: Drinks

This helped prevent everyone from crowding around one area and made it easy for guests to grab what they wanted.

Masters-Inspired Party Food 🍽

One of the most fun parts of hosting a Masters watch party is recreating the classic concession stand favorites served at the tournament.

The Masters is known for its iconic and surprisingly affordable menu items.

Here are some must-haves.

Egg Salad Sandwiches

A Masters staple.

Serve them on soft white bread cut into small triangles for an authentic tournament feel.

Pimento Cheese Sandwiches

Possibly the most famous Masters food item.

Creamy, cheesy, and slightly tangy — these sandwiches are simple but so good.

Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Another classic option that’s hearty and easy to serve to a crowd.

Slow cooker pulled pork works perfectly for parties.

Chips

Simple and easy. You can serve:

  • Classic potato chips

  • Kettle chips

  • BBQ chips

Put them in bowls or small baskets lined with plaid food liners.

Lemon Bars

I made homemade lemon bars for the party, and they were the perfect sweet treat.

The bright citrus flavor fits the springtime vibe of Masters weekend so well.

Cheese & Snack Board

We also had a board with:

  • Cheese

  • Crackers

  • Fresh veggies

It gave guests something light to snack on while watching the tournament.

Masters Food Kits You Can Order

One of the coolest things about hosting a Masters party is that you can actually order authentic food and drink kits directly inspired by the tournament.

The official Masters shop releases at-home hosting kits each year with items like:

  • Sandwich kits

  • Snacks from Augusta

  • Cocktail mix

  • Branded cups

  • Toothpicks with Masters logos

  • Fun green plaid food liners

These kits recreate the experience of the concession stands at Augusta National Golf Club.

Last year, our friends ordered a large hosting kit and it was such a fun addition to the party. Everything came perfectly packaged and really added to the authenticity of the experience.

You can even join the waitlist each year because they tend to sell out quickly.

The Iconic Masters Cocktail 🍹

No Masters watch party is complete without the famous Azalea cocktail.

It’s light, refreshing, and perfectly springy.

Typical ingredients include:

  • Vodka

  • Lemonade

  • Pineapple juice

  • A splash of grenadine

Serve them in fun cups with garnishes like lemon slices or cherries using the Masters-themed toothpicks if you have them.

We set up the drinks on the kitchen island, which worked perfectly for guests to mix their own cocktails.

Creating the Perfect Watch Party Atmosphere

A Masters party should feel relaxed, social, and fun.

Some simple ways to enhance the vibe:

  • Keep the tournament playing on the TV all afternoon

  • Play light background music during commercial breaks

  • Set out cozy seating for guests

  • Encourage people to come and go throughout the day

Masters Sunday especially is such a fun day to gather and watch together.

Why Masters Watch Parties Are So Fun

Unlike many sporting events that feel loud or chaotic, the vibe of the The Masters Tournament is elegant and timeless.

That energy translates perfectly to a home gathering.

It’s relaxed but festive, stylish but simple, and it gives everyone an excuse to enjoy great food, good drinks, and a little friendly competition while watching one of golf’s most legendary tournaments.

Final Thoughts

Hosting a Masters watch party doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. With a few green and yellow decorations, some classic Augusta-inspired foods, and a round of Azalea cocktails, you can easily recreate the charm of tournament weekend right at home.

For us, decorating together with friends made the whole experience even more fun — from building the balloon arch to setting up the food table and arranging all the little golf-themed details.

It ended up being such a cute and memorable day, and it’s definitely a tradition we’ll be repeating every Masters season.

Because when the azaleas bloom and the tournament begins, there’s no better way to celebrate than gathering your favorite people, turning on the golf, and bringing a little piece of Augusta home. ⛳🌼
